“Palestinians” make
Amazing change
In just only 3 weeks

ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO, about the time of the U.S. elections for president, the PLO/PFLP in Ramallah said it was ready to negotiate with Israel.

Ramallah’s negotiators told the world they were prepared to resume negotiations with Israel with a third country to mediate.

Now, the leadership in Ramallah has reneged.

What could have caused this sudden change of heart?

Two buddies: Joe Biden and Terrorist Abu Mazen

WHAT HAPPENED INDEED.

Until about three weeks ago, a U.S. President was lining up Muslim countries to make “normalization” agreements with Israel.

    UAE signed on.

    Bahrain signed on.

    Sudan is signing on.

Even Saudia Arabia is entertaining the idea of formal normalization with Israel.

Abu Mazen and the PLO/PFLP were being left in the cold.

So, seeing the writing on the wall, Abu Mazen ordered a return to the negotiating table

BUT THEN

But then Joe Biden won — stole if you prefer — the election.

Biden was vice president to a previous president.

That president was pro-Muslim and anti-Israel.

He had been a student at a madrasa, and he was one of Jeremiah Wright’s congregants for many years. Wright is the preacher who asked god to damn America.

He made that perfectly clear by

  * Snubbing Israel’s prime minister

  * Funding UN organizations that served ONLY the “Palestinians”

  * Sending a US$221 million gift to Ramallah on his last day as president.1

  * Having the U.S. abstain from the annual UN Israel bashing 2

Stands to reason

With Biden expected to bring back Obama’s disastrous-for-America and disastrous for Israel policies, and with far left Harris-Emhoff waiting in the wings to take over the government when Biden is either pushed out or carried out, Abu Mazen had a change of heart.

He no longer wants to negotiate with Israel.

There is no need to negotiate with Israel; the Democrats have his back.

Unlike the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran is not a DIRECT threat to either Ramallah or Gaza.

But, if Iran acts on its promise to obliterate Israel, then both Ramallah and Gaza will be counted as “collateral damage.”

Saudi Arabia already is in danger of losing access to U.S. weapons to use in its fight with Iran-backed rebels attacking the kingdom from Yemen.

Israel cannot protect these Muslim countries threatened by another Muslim country. Would any of them come to Israel’s aid if it is attacked … by Iran or any other rogue state. Rhetorical question.

MEANWHILE there are those close to Biden and Harris-Emhoff that are pressing to remove President Trump’s supplemental sanctions on Iran. Granted, while the sanctions have hurt Iran financially, like Hitler before him, the ayatollah will spend his country into a depression before he will give up his grand scheme to blow up parts of the world (the Big Satan and the Little Satan – and anything nearby).

Nobody knows

At this point, no one really knows what Biden (or his handlers) are thinking. Anyone who claims he will, or won’t, do this or that is simply gazing into a cracked crystal ball.

There’s a better chance of predicting what Harris-Emhoff will do when she moves into the White House.

She was a senator only a brief time, but established herself as one of the most liberal — if not the most liberal, left-wing — members of the senate.

The question now is: Will Harris-Emhoff win election to the presidency after completing Biden’s term?

America and Israel are in for a fraughtful four years.

Hard Impossible
To believe the UN

אִם-אֶשְׁכָּחֵךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם

If I forget thee, O, Jerusalem - Psalm 137, composed during the Babylonian exile, 598/7 to 587/6 BCE*; by comparison, Mohammed lived from 571 to 632 CE** - 1,157 years from end of the Exile to the birth of Mohammed.)

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations body responsible for protecting historical and archeological sites throughout the world, has changed its language for the Temple Mount, acquiescing last week to a request by the Palestinian Authority that it refer to the site using the term "Al-Aqsa mosque" only.

The place place in Jerusalem formerly known as "The Temple Mount" is actually "Al-Aqsa" and is strictly an Islamic site.

Never mind the archeological facts..

Never mind that Mohammed's Koran never mentions Al-Aqsa or even Jerusalem.

Never mind that the Tanak (Torah, Prophets, Writings) - mentions the Temple and Jerusalem hundreds of times. All those times must be coincidental "bubbe meise ***" or "sepuray savta" - grandma stories..

Never mind that "It also stands in denial of Islam itself, and the official statements of the ‘Supreme Moslem Council (sic),’ the Muslim Waqf which administers the Temple Mount.. In the English-language booklet ‘A Brief Guide to Al-Haram Al Sharifpublished by the Waqf in Jerusalem in 1924, it states: Its identity with the site of Solomon’s Temple is beyond dispute. This, too, is the spot according to the universal belief, on which ‘David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings’ (II Samuel 24:25)."

The prophet Samuel is believed to have lived between 931 and 877 BCE.

THE UN NEVER has dealt with Israel with an even hand.

UNESCO in 2015 declared Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem and the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron as Muslim sites that are part of a Palestinian state.

According to CNS News

UNESCO in 2011 became the first U.N. agency to admit “Palestine,” a decision that triggered a U.S. funding cutoff mandated by a 1990 law barring financial support for “the United Nations or any specialized agency thereof which accords the Palestine Liberation Organization the same standing as member states.”

Until then, American taxpayers accounted for 22 percent of UNESCO’s operating budget, and the cutoff sparking a financial crisis for the Paris-based agency.

Since then the Obama administration has repeatedly sought waiver authority to enable it to resume funding, without success.

The Jewish Week, obviously a blatantly biased publication, notes that

There’s a kind of parlor game in pro-Israel circles, one usually accompanied by a player’s roll of the eyes or knowing sigh: How unfair to Israel can the United Nations be?

Of course, there’s the infamous “Zionism Equals Racism” declaration from 1975. Then there’s the fact that Israel continues to be effectively barred from membership on the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, a prestigious body that monitors human rights around the world. And last summer there was the U.N.’s claim that Israeli troops deliberately targeted both Palestinian civilians and U.N. facilities during the conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

According to Abu Mazen (a/k/a Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas) the

“Al-Aqsa is ours and so is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They have no right to desecrate them with their filthy feet. We won’t allow them to do so and we will do whatever we can to defend Jerusalem.”

Look at a map of the ancient Middle East - say from Roman times. Is the City of David shown as "Jerusalem" of "al-Quds"? The following map, titled "The Califate in 750 (CE)" clearly shows Jerusalem - NOT "al-Quds" as one would suspect on an Islamic califate map. (There are links to additional maps at the end of this exercise.)

Islamist themselves discuss the Temple and that Israel was given by God to the Jewish people. Somehow UNESCO and Obama refuse to acknowledge what Jews, Christians, and Muslims (chronologically) know to be truth.

Dig this

Finally, if all other literary evidence is cast aside as wishful thinking, there is archeology.

Professional archeologists as well as children have been finding archeological evidence that Jews were present in what is the current political Israel since well before either Christians or Muslims walked the land.

While it is harder for those who insist that "Israel never was Jewish," they somehow manage to close their eyes to reality and science, claiming any artifacts were "planted" by the Jews.

The Jewish Virtual Library provides an abbreviated list of archaeology finds since 2004.

Additional links to archeological resources are found below.

Obama vs. victims
Of Muslim terrorists

U.S. protects Iran, PA
Despite court decisions

Two seemingly unrelated articles caught my attention this morning.

The first, a link from the Dry Bones cartoon for Thursday, August 06, 2015, led me to an AP story titled U.S. Likely to Intervene in Palestinian Terror Case.

The second, initially seen on Israel HaYom, appears on the Business Insider web site under the heading Victims of Iran-backed attacks who won $1.5 billion in court are suing the US to keep sanctions in place.

The first item, linked from the Dry Bones editorial cartoon, tells readers that The U.S. government is moving closer to intervening in a high-stakes civil case over deadly Palestinian terror attacks as officials met Tuesday with victims' families to discuss concerns over a jury verdict worth hundreds of millions of dollars.. Pretty strong words for the AP; "deadly Palestinian terror attacks."

The AP copy continues: At issue is $218.5 million in damages awarded by a New York jury in February for attacks that killed 33 people and wounded hundreds more — a penalty that lawyers say would be automatically tripled under the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act, but that the State Department fears could weaken the stability of the Palestinian government.

The victims, understanding that the PA only has ready cash to pay salaries to jailed terrorists, stipends to dead terrorists' survivors, and monuments honoring the terrorists' "heroism," are willing to take payments over time. (Based on the PA's payments for water and electricity provided by Israel, even token payments to the terrorists' victims seems unlikely.)

Like the first item, the second is a case of the federal government protecting a terror sponsor; this time, Iran.

The Reuters' story begins NEW YORK (Reuters) - Twenty U.S. citizens who won more than $1.5 billion in court judgments against Iran for its support of militant attacks sued the U.S. government on Wednesday to try and prevent it from lifting sanctions on Tehran under an international nuclear deal.

The lawsuit in federal court in New York said that unfreezing Iranian funds would rob the victims of the attacks in Israel and the Gaza Strip of “their last remaining opportunity to pressure Iran to satisfy their judgments."

It has been suggested that the victims of PA-sponsored attacks get their money from the funds the U.S. government provides the PA on a continuing basis (ignoring what the PA does with the money).

The same might be applied to Iran's frozen funds; take out the $1.5 billion awarded by the courts and distribute it to the victims of Iran-sponsored terrorism before lifting sanctions on Iran.

Will either suggestion win Obama's approval?

Does it snow in Key West?

Daesh (ISIS) promise

Coming to America

Even though the White House won't admit there are Muslim terrorists out to rule the world, the truth is there are (Muslim terrorists out to rule the world) and they blatantly advertise the fact.

A fact ignored at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and the lackeys who fondly follow their master's misdirection. What is the problem? Are the terrorists invisible to the fools within the Beltway?.

According to the "gentleman" in the White House, one can't say "Muslim" (or "Islamist") and "Terrorist" together. These people are simply misguided souls that want to take over the world and if they have to slaughter everyone who objects, then so be it; hand me my sword, Ā’ishah (bint Abī Bak).

There ARE "good" Muslims who try to live in the current age.

There are idiot Christians and Jews who would prefer to live in the age of inquisitions (Christians) or unmitigated-by-Talmuds Torah ("law" is redundant with Torah).

Fortunately, most Christians and Jews protest loudly and work diligently against the idiots I their ranks. Muslim voices, when heard, are relatively soft-spoken.

Or perhaps it's just the media that ignores the voices of "moderate" Muslims.

Just what IS a "moderate" Muslim, anyway?

I wonder what the leader of the formerly great United States has to say about his Muslims and their "New Era."

Politics

What did he say
Really,
And in what context?

Not reporting ALL the words is a lie

Obama said this.

Netanyahu said that.

Both are politicians and most politicians are not known for truthfulness, especially when bashing an opponent.

Netanyahu allegedly said before the elections that if he was re-elected there would be NO "two-state" solution to the Israel-PA conundrum.

This was reported - headlined - in most media - liberal and conservative.

UNFORTUNATELY, it was taken out of context.

In context, Netanyahu said that as long as things remain as they are then there can be no two-state solution. The partner, Abu Mazen and Friends - must meet certain apparently unrealistic conditions before two-state talks can resume. Abu Mazen must

  1. Cease his government's official anti-Israel hate speeches
  2. Stop honoring murders of Israelis - Jews and non-Jews alike; stop naming streets and sports venues after the killers
  3. Remove inflammatory statements in textbooks used by PA students in all grades
  4. Remove racists cartoons and other propaganda from PA television

So far, that's been too much to ask.

And that doesn't even include Hamas in Gaza over which Abu Mazen only thinks he has control. Nor does it include paying off the PA's electric bill, or even lifting the boycott on Israeli products.

Israel is not demanding that Abu Mazen give up his plan to make the PA "juden frei" (Hitler tried that if anyone recalls recent history; the popes also tried it a few centuries earlier. It didn't work for either.)

Netanyahu "clarified" his taken-out-of-context statement by stating there could be a two-state solution once the PA becomes a civilized partner in negotiations.

Netanyahu said that he expected Israeli Arabs to turn out in "droves" to vote for any party other than Likud. That, the liberal media exclaimed, is racist.

For the first time the several Arab parties in Israel were united and Israeli Arabs DID turn out in record numbers. But because the words came from Netanyahu's mouth the statement was racist.

Are tv talking heads racists when they report that voters of this or that party in the U.S. turned out ion "droves?" Hardly. Heck, in the U.S. people sometimes "swarm" to the polls; they "mass" at the polling place's doors to be first in line.

Are those words racists? Only in the minds of an easily offended liberal who knows his - or her - party cannot generate the same turnout.

Here, in the U.S., the (not "our," please) always-ready-to-condemn Israel president jumped on the out-of-context Netanyahu quote and ranted that the U.S. would have to rethink its relationship with Israel. RETHINK? Who is he kidding. Since taking office he has repeatedly shown disrespect for the country's prime minister and generally worked against the nation. (He hasn't done any good for America's image abroad, either, but that's a problem the U.S. can fix after the not-born-in-America* president is history.)

Truth be told, I am NOT a fan of Netanyahu; he certainly is NOT my choice for prime minister - or for any ministerial position save for perhaps hasberah (PR) to the English-speaking nations; he speaks well.

I think there is much that can be done to improve the Knesset and Israeli Arab participation, starting with integrating Israeli Arabs into the "Jewish" political parties - there certainly are enough political parties in Israel. (Interesting that they don't "flock"- is that racist?? - to the liberal parties.)

* Yes, I know a birth certificate was "discovered" two years AFTER he took office the first time. I also know that no one investigated, certainly not more than superficially, the voracity of the document, despite much skepticism.

Ahh, diplomacy

Name calling

Did one of the sycophants of the current incompetent at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue actually call Israel's prime minister chicken manure (in a slightly less genteel word)?

Or, as a few have suggested, is the remark a figment of an anti-Israel Jew's imagination?

Having worked in a "lul," a chicken house for both chicks and layers, trust me, I know the foul smell of fowl feces.

The only manure smell worse than chicken poop is that of green feces from a new born. I have three children - now adults - and a grand-daughter so I am acquainted with that smell, too.

My personal opinion of Israel's prime minister is only slightly higher than my opinion of the U.S. president, which is to say on a scale of 1 to 10, both are in negative numbers. It's not a matter of party; I appreciated Harry S Truman and LBJ and, when I lived in Holon, I was 100% behind Begin. All three were, in my opinion, honest men who were true to their beliefs and worked for the betterment of their nations (although with LBJ, sometimes it was hard to determine).

Israel's PM reminds me of a wind sock at an airport; it moves whichever way the wind blows. The PM, of course, uses pollsters to determine which way the political winds are blowing: build on Jewish land today; tear down the homes built yesterday on Jewish land. (I have to wonder; does the PM have a financial interest in construction and demolition companies?)

As for as Washington goes, the U.S. has a president who has managed to hide his history from the people. No birth certificate. No college transcripts. We know he has no military service, not even pseudo-military in the National Guard a la Bush 2.

Compare that with Israel's PM. We know what he is - a Jew, perhaps not as observant as some would like, perhaps more observant than others prefer. According to a bio at http://www.biography.com/people/benjamin-netanyahu-9421908#early-years, Benjamin Netanyahu was born on October 21, 1949, in Tel Aviv, Israel and grew up in Jerusalem. He spent most of his teen years living in the Philadelphia area, where his father, noted Jewish historian Benzion Netanyahu, worked as a professor. In 1967, he returned to Israel to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces' elite unit, "Sayeret Matkal," and took part in a number of military operations, including the dramatic 1972 rescue of a hijacked Sebana passenger jet.

The entry at http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/biography/netanyahu.html states: Following his discharge (from the IDF), Netanyahu studied at MIT in Boston and received a B.S. in architecture and an M.S. in Management Studies. He also studied political science at MIT and Harvard University. In 1976, he was employed by the Boston Consulting Group, an international business consulting firm, where he befriended future American Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.

While the PM's bio may be as fabricated as the U.S. president's, no one so far has proved it less than honest; I would trust members of Israel's left-wing and Moslem parties to uncover any falsehoods and broadcast them to the world.

We know the incompetent in D.C. is influenced by America-hating preachers and by Muslims and their money; we know that even his Jewish lackeys such as Democratic National Chair, US. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, put the president above her constituents. (Those Jews in her district who wanted anything accomplished on their behalf knew to turn to the congressman in the next district over, retired Army Col. Allen West . West was gerrymandered out of his seat.

I won't call the occupier of the White House "chicken manure" as his people refer to Israel's PM, but I will suggest that since he's been in office, Washington has generated an unprecedented about of bovine excrement regarding both domestic and foreign policy; actually the lack thereof. The only contemporary man who gives the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue competition for "America's Worst President" is Jimmy Carter.

The reason I have hope for the future is that I know "this, too, shall change." The change will HAVE to be for the better.

Maybe now Israel
Has worthy president

During the reign of Shimon Peres, now Israel's former president, the state was burdened by a man whose self-flattery destroyed the office.

From the beginning, Israel's presidency has been an almost non-political one; the president was a meeter and greeter of foreign dignitaries.

Peres, to the embarrassment of many Israelis, apparently thought his role similar to American presidents, and in the process, did as much damage to Israel as America's incumbent is doing to the United States.

Fortunately the presidency is time limited and Peres' term is, thankfully, over.

In his place Knesset Members (MK) - not the public - elected a former MK to represent Israel to the world for the next seven years.

Hopefully, Reuven Rivlin will restore honor to the office.

Changing of the guard

According to ABC News,

Israel's parliament on Tuesday chose Reuven Rivlin, a veteran nationalist politician and supporter of the Jewish settlement movement, as the country's next president, putting a man opposed to the creation of a Palestinian state into the ceremonial but influential post.

Rivlin, a stalwart in the governing Likud Party, now faces the difficult task of succeeding Shimon Peres, a Nobel peace laureate who became an all-star on the international stage.

The second paragraph of the ABC piece offers a hint of ABC's political leanings. Peres, then Foreign Minister, was given the Nobel prize in 1994, a prize he shared with then Israel Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin, and the Egyptian terrorist Mohammed Yasser Abdel Rahman Abdel Raouf Arafat al-Qudwa (a/k/a Yasser Arafat). This is the same prize that the U.S. president was given after less than a year in office, suggesting that in both cases the prize was granted prematurely.

Hopefully Rivlin will not, as Peres did, tell a person who had the audacity to challenge his opinion to Go back where you came from.

Rivlin who most assuredly has political opinions must understand that those opinions must be shared with the world through a proxy; that the presidency is ceremonial.

The government rests in the hands of the prime minister and his hand-picked yes men (and women). As with the current U.S. president, all power (for now) rests in the hands of the country's chief executive.

If Rivlin can restrict himself to the duties of the presidency then he may go down as the president who restored honor to the office, an office tarnished by Peres who apparently forgot his career as an MK was over before his MK cronies awarded him the prize of the presidency..

Could Obama
  Bring peace
  To Mid-East?

From The Israel Project daily email for Novermber 21, 2013:

The Associated Press describes a burgeoning "strange alliance" between Israel and Saudi Arabia, the latest development in what has become a cascade of regional adjustments by traditional U.S. allies concerned that Washington is ceding its traditional role as a regional power. Jerusalem and Gulf nations have reportedly been shaken by the Obama administration's decision-making in Egypt, where the White House vacillated and then eventually punished Cairo over the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Mohammed Morsi government; in Syria, where the White House vacillated and then failed to attack after its "red line" against chemical weapons use was crossed; and Iran, where the White House is widely seen as vacillating on its pledge to only strike an interim deal with Iran that prevents Tehran from making progress in pursuing a nuclear weapons capability. The AP tersely noted that "the stepped-up anxieties on Iran could bring new space for the Gulf-Israel overlap." CNN yesterday carried analysis by Barak Seener, Associate Middle East Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute, describing how "GCC States and Israel have increased their intelligence sharing to counter an Iranian threat."

Can Obama's bungling and mishandling of foreign affairs have accidently led to - if not peace in between Israel and its neighbors - at least recognition of Israel by the leading powers in the Muslum world?

Could he win a second Peace prize? Stranger things have happened.

Is Obama blind?

Are Kerry, Netanyahu just stupid?

Obungler and his puppet Kerry are insisting that Israel make peace with the so-called Palestinians. (Israel already has a peace deal with the true Palestinian state: Jordan.)

Netanyahu apparently is safely tucked in Kerry’s pocket; another Obungler “yes man.”

Meanwhile, the people who are supposed to sit across from the Israelis at the peace table are publically praising the people who slaughtered innocent Israeli civilians. ( http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=9425)

Can’t Obungler and Company see that?

Is Netanyahu so intent on being the U.S.’ lackey that he is willing to do exactly what he said he would NOT do.

There was a song popular in the 1960s, “Where have all the flowers gone?” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GCPAhR09wCA) - parts actually date back to 1955 ((http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_Have_All_the_Flowers_Gone%3F). *

The main thought was “When will they ever learn?”

Over and over and over yet again the modern day “Palestinians” have proven they don’t come to the table ready to make peace with Israel under any terms other than Israel’s destruction as a Jewish state. (Never mind that Arabs live in Israel and have as many – in some case, it seems, more – rights than Jews and that, on the flip side, Abu Mazzen & friends brag that they intend to build a Jew free country.)

Stop construction. Construction was stopped.

Free the murderers. The murderers were freed. (Lest we forget, that demand applies only to prisoners in Israeli jails; not to prisoners held by the enemy and not even to Jonathon Pollard held by Obungler and Company in the U.S.)

But Abu Mazzen won’t come to the table. More demands.

Give up Jerusalem. OK, give them Mea Sherim and let THOSE extremists deal with Mazzen.

Go back to 1948 lines. True, Israel once defended itself from those lines; defended itself from aggressors from all sides. But the toll was more than anyone wants to consider again.

Will Obungler put American soldiers’ lives on the line for Israel? I pray he won’t. To be fair, I think the last U.S. president to “have Israel’s back” was Harry Truman. The U.S. State Department ALWAYS has been pro-Arab; even after 9-11-2001 nothing has changed.

Will the UN put blue bonnets’ lives on the line for Israel? We know it won’t – and indeed should not. For the most part, when an Arab says “Boo!” the blue bonnets disappear.

Despite a history of deception and lies by Abu Mazzen and friends, the U.S. and, following along like a puppy on a leash most EU countries, continue to act like the three blind mice.

When will they ever learn?

* There even is a Hebrew version of the song (איפה הפרחים כולם ) by the Gesher HaYarkon Trio (שלישיית גשר הירקון ).

Obungler’s buddy
Haniyeh won’t
Recognize Israel

This is a “peace partner?”

In a Ma’an News Agency article headed Haniyeh: Palestinians will not recognize Israel ( http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=608441) Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Tuesday that Palestinians would not recognize Israel, despite the siege on Gaza and two wars.

Is Ma’an trustworthy? Does it report PA news accurately? Ma’an was “Launched in 2005, Ma'an News Agency (MNA) publishes news around the clock in Arabic and English, and is among the most browsed websites in the Palestinian territories, with over 3 million visits per month. Considered the main source of independent news from Palestine, MNA has become the first choice for online information for many Palestinians, and is also attracting a growing international readership and interest from prominent international news organizations and agencies.”

Obungler and his lackey John Kerry each have to be deaf in both ears and blind in both eyes if they fail to see and hear Gaza’s chief terrorist’s words in the PA’s on media.

There is NO ambiguity in Haniyeh’s words. He lacks the guile of Abu Mazin in Ramallah, Fatah’s prime minister. That terrorist plays word games with U.S. agents by setting “preconditions” Israel must meet before talks can move forward, but then before anyone can sit down at a table, Abu Mazin adds yet more “preconditions.”

How is Israel supposed to discuss peace with a divided people – Hamas on one side, Fatah on the other? Haniyeh says what Abu Mazin puts into pictures – a “Palestinian” state that replaces all of Israel – a Jewish-free state at that. (Perhaps the feuding prime ministers will let the good people of Mea Sharim stay; they prefer to be under Muslim rule and never recognized Israel’s governments.)

Obungler and his minions may as well stay in D.C.; there is zero hope for a true peace agreement with the self-created “Palestinians” of Hamas or Fatah. It becomes more and more questionable it Hamas and Fatah actually represent the people they claim to control.

”America’s rabbi”
needs lesson in history

Shmuley Boteach:
Arm Syrian rebels

R. Shmuley Boteach, trying to put words in Obama’s mouth, would have the president tell Syria’s Assad “(W)e have decided to arm the rebels in their fight.” ( http://tinyurl.com/n2n76x3)

Never mind conflicting reports about who is killing who in Syria; Boteach wants to arm the rebels who, by the way, have been accused of cannibalism – and of bragging about it.

Does Boteach really think the U.S. can buy the rebels friendship IF the rebels prevail, and as of today, 19 June 2013, that’s questionable.

Does Boteach really think if the rebels, a fragmented bunch at best, will be able to control the country and, in particular, the cease fire along the Israel-Syria border. Certainly not based on some of the rebels’ published promises.

Perhaps the real question is: Does Boteach think at all?

Obviously Boteach, who frequently reminds his readers that someone called him “America’s rabbi” and that “Newsweek and The Washington Post call ‘the most famous Rabbi in America’, is the international best-selling author of 29 books,” is ignorant of history.

He apparently fails to realize that America cannot buy friends or, for that matter, cannot defuse Muslim anger by paying off the Islamists. He pointedly ignores the lessons of Afghanistan where the U.S. armed the Taliban to fight the then Soviet Union, only to have the U.S.-provided weapons turned against U.S. soldiers.

He fails to recognize the purpose of the Monroe Doctrine – a doctrine developed to keep the U.S. out of foreign wars, “civil” or otherwise.

Botach rails against the Russian head of state’s endorsement of the Assad administration. “It’s a travesty that Russia was invited to the G8 summit, especially as Putin shamelessly disregards the pleas of the international community to withdraw his support from the criminal regime. This summit is meant to facilitate the collaboration between civilized nations for a better future. If we can’t stop the ongoing slaughter or, at least, bar Russia’s participation from the summit until they change their policy, then the forum becomes guilty of passive complicity.”

Even as he notes that the “summit is meant to facilitate the collaboration between civilized nations for a better future” he would banish the Russian to prevent any communication between his point of view and any others’ points of view. My way or the highway attitude.

Syria is NOT the United States’ problem.

Syria is NOT the G-8’s problem.

Syria MIGHT be a problem to be handled by the Arab League, although the Arab League is hard pressed to do anything other than ask non-Muslims to protect their assets.

Syria certainly is not a problem for the UN’s Blue Bonnets who are best known for turning tail and disappearing when someone says Boo!.

Hopefully, no matter what side or sides finally prevail, Syria will not become a problem for Israel, Jordan, or Turkey. Iran and Iraq – they are contributing to the problem as are Hamas and Hezbollah.

I know Boteach is running for political office.

If he really wants to get the U.S. involved in Syria’s internal problems, I hope he is soundly defeated. I understand he’s running for a local spot, but his “buddy” at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue will use a Boteach win to claim America’s rabbi and America are behind him (POTUS) in what would be Obama’s latest misadventure.

Shmuley Boteach is not this scrivener’s rabbi and, the last time I checked my passport it showed I am very much an American.

Make peace with
Haniyeh and Mazin?

Obama & Kerry should read “Palestinian” press

The following article is from the Ma’an News Agency that, according to its own (English language) “About” page is part of the Ma’an Network, the largest independent TV, radio and online media group in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It also broadcasts regionally via the Ma’an-Mix satellite channel. It publishes news around the clock in Arabic and English, and is among the most browsed websites in the Palestinian territories, with over 3 million visits per month. Considered the main source of independent news from Palestine, MNA has become the first choice for online information for many Palestinians, and is also attracting a growing international readership and interest from prominent international news organizations and agencies.” (http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewContent.aspx?PAGE=AboutUs)

Ma’an also offers news in Hebrew. In English or Hebrew, it deserves an occasional visit; today I saw a photo of “Israel soldiers force Muslim to drink wine at gunpoint” (http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=604267) Ma’an’s main office is in Bet Lekhem (Bethlehem) with a “sub office” in Aza (Gaza) City.

Based on the fact that Ma’an, despite its claim of independence, is the mouthpiece of those who control “Palestine,” the reporting of Aza Prime Minister Haniyeh’s speeches can be trusted to be accurate, even in translation.

Haniyeh: No future for Israel on the land of Palestine

http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=603354

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Sunday said that Israel has no future on Palestinian land, a Ma'an reporter said.

The Gaza premier made the comments while addressing a summer camp launched by Hamas to commemorate the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

"This key tells the story of a people who have been displaced from their land and subjected to the greatest international piracy at the hands of Zionist gangs," Haniyeh told spectators.

"This key narrates the story of Palestinian steadfastness, the determination to return back to their homes, and a heritage which will not go away."

Thousands of people gathered outside the al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City to listen to the speech. Haniyeh said that some 100,000 school students will participate in the summer camps.

A 'Miles of Smiles' aid convoy, including solidarity activists from Jordan, Libya, Bahrain and Egypt, were present at the ceremony.

And the Jewish perspective from “The Israel Project” (http://tinyurl.com/8yedr2b)

Speaking Sunday at a youth summer camp in the Gaza Strip, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh proclaimed to the crowd that Israel would be destroyed to make way for a Palestinian state. Arab media sources summed up his speech (see Ma’an article above) with the headline ‘Haniyeh: No future for Israel on the land of Palestine.’ It took place at a summer camp specifically dedicated to commemorating what Palestinians call their right of return, a diplomatic euphemism describing a scenario under which millions of Palestinian refugees – many of whom are radicalized and most of whom neighboring Arab countries have refused to settle for decades – would enter Israel. Hamas uses its summer camps to indoctrinate and train child soldiers (see http://tinyurl.com/ms4zdlm), which are then deployed against Israel in combat situations. The dynamic, under which Hamas conducts incitement in the context of providing children with paramilitary training, has confounded many human rights organizations that attempt to assess combat situations between Israel and the Iran-backed terror group. Such organization have been criticized for inflating Palestinian civilian deaths by calculating all teenage male combatants as civilian deaths, despite Hamas’s open training of teenagers for combat and the group’s boasts that it uses children as jihadists.

Even if the Arabists in the Beltway discount the “Jewish perspective” (ibid.) how can they ignore the words of Ismail Haniyeh quoted in his own media?

Anyone who thinks the Islamists want anything other than to destroy Israel is living in a world of make believe.

In Yesha (Judea and Samaria), the so-called “West Bank,” terrorist Abu Mazin, who presides as president of the “Palestinian Authority,” consistently says he is willing to talk to Israel on condition that. Every time Israel meets Mazin’s conditions, he adds another. Mazin, by the way, is considered by Obama as a “true partner” with Israel in negotiating away Israeli lands and security (http://tinyurl.com/lutnxoy).

Are Obama and Kerry really that blind to reality?
Sorry, rhetorical question.

When the going gets tough The Blue Bonnets get going

UN "peacekeeper" withdrawal
starts, Austrians pack up tents

According to Israel HaYom, the Austria's are turning tail and pulling out of Syria where they were charged with maintaining a buffer zone between the Syrians and Israel. (http://tinyurl.com/lv5zryp)

"Danger to Austrian soldiers has risen to an unacceptable level," says its chancellor.

This is not the first time the Blue Bonnets have abandoned their mission. (On May 16, 1967 Nasser ordered a withdrawal of the United Nations Emergency Forces (UNEF) stationed on the Egyptian-Israeli border, thus removing the international buffer between Egypt and Israel which had existed since 1957. http://tinyurl.com/ks22dfg )

According to the Jewish Press, Israel Minister of Strategic and Intelligence Affairs Yuval Steinintz (Likud) said that the lesson is very clear, “In any peace agreement, Israel cannot rely on international forces, but only on IDF soldiers.” He added that South Lebanon, under the UN’s watch, now has 40,000 missiles embedded there pointed at Israel. The UN did nothing to stop it. (http://tinyurl.com/l46hu2g )

UNDOF Peacekeepers on the Golan (UN Photo)

Meanwhile, as the Austrians get ready to retreat to increasingly Muslim Europe, the Philippines said today (7 Jun 2013) it still was studying whether to pull its UN peacekeeping force out of the Golan Heights, after the wounding of a Filipino soldier and the withdrawal of Austrian troops there. (http://tinyurl.com/mtmn9my )

Japan and Croatia already pulled out. Fiji has promised some replacement troops but they have not yet arrived. (http://tinyurl.com/jvlavsk )

India also has troops serving in the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), which has monitored a ceasefire between Israel and Syria since 1974. So far, there has been no reports of an Indian departure. (ibid.)

Granted, the Blue Bonnets were supposed to maintain the ceasefire between Syria and Israel, and as long as Assad was in total control, the border was less or more quiet. Now that his control is shared by rebels and Hamas and with terrorists (Hezbollah) Syria's internal war - hardly a "civil war" since there are many non-Syrians involved) - is spilling over Israeli, Turkish, and Jordanian borders. Lebanon has been a Syrian outpost for years and no longer counts as an independent nation.

It IS interesting to note that (apparently) there are NO Arab League nations involved in trying to stem the Sunni-Shiite war within Syria's borders.

According to The Arab League Web presence (http://tinyurl.com/7hfjwqz ), "The Arab League comprises of 22 members. The members are Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Comoros, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritiana and Yemen. The League is involved in political, economic, cultural and social programs to promote the interests of the member states. It has successfully settled some Arab disputes. It played a crucial role in limiting conflicts like the Lebanese civil war of 1958."

One has to wonder about the League's ability at "limiting conflicts" giving the conditions of several of its member states (currently including Algeria, Egypt, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Somalia, Sudan, and Tunisia).

Jordan, abutting Syria, wisely is keeping its troops at home as it faces discontent of its own. Turkey, not yet a League member state, also has reason to keep its troops within its borders as the natives become restless.

Given the number of so-called Palestinians in Syria and the fact that the Palestinian Authority is armed by the U.S., one has to wonder why Mahmoud Abbas, a/k/a terrorist Abu Mazen, doesn't send his troops into Syria to either (a) separate the warring factions or (b) extricate the "Palestinians" from the field of battle. "Palestine" is, after all, a League member.

Perhaps Obama and John McCain will decide the U.S. should send troops into Syria - but on whose side? - since, as Obama claims, the war in Afghanistan is winding down and what can he do with all these troops except send them into yet another winless war for a people who loath Americans. (Who said the Dems and GOP couldn't agree on anything.)

Maybe the Austrians are right after all. If the Muslims of the Arab League are afraid to enter the fray, why should the Austrians? Why should the UN (Useless Nobodies) hang around.

If the "rebels" gain control, Israel can expect to be attacked.

If Assad survives Israel will be forced to eliminate the Russian missiles due in 2014 while preventing any more weapons transfer to Hezbollah.

For Israel, it is a lose-lose situation, but at least Israel's politicians have - so far - had sufficient intelligence to stay out of Syria's internal war.

AARP

NOT for me

I am AARP-eligible. Have been for years.

I even joined one year for the "discounts."

I quit AARP when I discovered the discounts were of no value to me.

But now, there is "no way" I'd ever buy AARP membership or any product associated with the AARP.

It is endorsing candidates.

AARP OUGHT to be politically neutral.

AARP currently is propagating the Obama lies - how healthcare will be lost to seniors, how our taxes will soar if Romney is elected.

That's pure and simple bovine excrement.

I'm not suggesting that some things coming out of the Romney camp don't smell like nature's own fertilizer - I've lived on horse and cattle ranches and I've moved an outhouse or two so I of what I "smell."

Probably the thing I find most egregious about AARP's claiming into bed with the incumbent is that fact that AARP members - certainly not all of whom are enamored by the president with a questionable past - are paying to place advertisements for Obama.

If Romney wins in November, and frankly I hope he does, the AARP organization stands to lose some clout in the District. It's paid management just shot itself in the foot.

No longer representing ALL seniors, AARP now represents only liberal seniors, seniors who will swallow the president's malarkey. Maybe seniors who want to hobnob with Hollywood's rich and - at least in their own minds - famous.

While I cannot - while I will not - object to individual AARP members following Obama's yellow brick road - and we now know, after nearly 4 years of Obama's care that "this isn't Kansas anymore, Toto" - I object to an organization that claims to represent me based solely on my "advanced years". AARP does NOT represent me.

I did not fall for the Democrats "creative bookkeeping."

I know my sons will not have Medicare as I know it.

They know they won't have Medicare as I know it today.

Social Security, once a "voluntary tax" by the way, also will be "modified" over the coming decades, sooner if Obama and his cronies stay in office and raid the once sacrosanct Social Security fund.

Change is inevitable.

In order to keep Medicare and Social Security well into the future, someone has to pay the piper.

The United States has one of the lowest tax rates - even for the middle class - of any country in the world. It also has one of the least funded social networks. A typical Norwegian pays a roughly 43% tax rate.

An Israeli earning more than US$125,000 can expect to pay a whopping 48% tax rate.

But Norway and Israel both offer many more social services, including subsidized health care.

Americans so far are unwilling to pay for Norway-type social services.

Whether or not the social services are "worth" it is in the eye of the beholder. I lived in Israel and know that health care, especially for the elderly, is not all that great; on the other hand, my daughter and grand-daughter do well by the system, a system into which they contribute.

I suppose I would not object quite so strongly to AARP's political stance if it was based on facts, on reality.

Only a Democrat with blinders can believe the numbers the AARP is pandering to the people.

And as for Sesame Street and PBS - I, too, like Oscar the Grouch and the Cookie Monster, but given some of the federally funded programming I think a small stipend from the Federal pocket is sufficient. There are plenty of organizations around that will sponsor PBS' liberal viewpoints; besides, unless you are living in Never-Never Land, PBS already has a abundance of commercials - out and out advertising.

(I'm waiting for Cookie Monster to have a Betty Crocker logo on his furry blue chest or Oscar the Grouch to sport a Waste Management baseball cap.)

Amusing but not funny

Pollard or "Blind Sheikh": Who goes free first?

While President Barak Obama keeps Jonathon Pollard in a cell he apparently is willing to release the mastermind of the 1993 Twin Towers bombing and primary plotter to destroy tunnels and bridges into New York City. Even allowing Pollard to attend his father's burial - escorted under armed guards - was too much for Obama. See http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/145073

An article in the Jewish Press of 20 September 2012 titled Holder and Clinton Considering Release of ‘Blind Sheikh’, reports that eight members of congress sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urging them to keep the "blind sheikh," Omar Abdel-Rahman , in prison.

Obama wants Abdel-Rahman sent to Egypt on "humanitarian" grounds.

Pollard stole secrets for an ally (Israel); all Abdel-Rahman did was

  • attempt to bring down the Twin Towers,
  • destroy access to New York City, and
  • authorize Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden's jihad against America.

  • Of course Obama bowed to Saudi princes, traveled to Egypt, and supports the "Arab Spring" that toppled friendly governments that generally protected American interests.

The letter to Clinton and Holder was signed by the following U.S. Representatives:

  • House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Chairman Frank Wolf (R-VA)

  • House Appropriations Subcommittee on State of Foreign Operations Chairwoman Kay Granger (R-TX)

  • House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY)

  • House Committee on Armed Services Chairman Buck McKeon (R-CA)

  • House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL)

  • House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX)

  • House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers (R-MI)

  • House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Pete King (R-NY)

The letter, for which the Representatives are still awaiting a response, follows:

    September 19, 2012

The Honorable Eric H. Holder, Jr.
    Attorney General
    U.S. Department of Justice
    Washington, D.C. 20530

    The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton
    Secretary
    U.S. Department of State
    Washington, D.C. 20520

Dear Attorney General Holder and Secretary Clinton,

We are concerned about recent reports that the Obama administration is considering the release of Omar Abdel-Rahman, better known as the “blind sheikh,” to the custody of Egypt for humanitarian and health reasons. If these reports are true, such considerations would be extremely disconcerting as release of this convicted terrorist should not happen for any reason.

The blind sheikh inspired the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, ordered the 1997 massacre of Western tourists at Luxor, Egypt, and issued the Islamic religious ruling that Osama bin Laden relied upon to justify the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. He is serving a life sentence at a federal penitentiary, for seditious conspiracy to wage war upon the United States, based on his role in a 1993 plot to conduct assassinations and destroy bridges, tunnels and other landmarks in New York City. The blind sheikh was the first person convicted under this statute since the Civil War. Nonetheless, the newly-elected government in Egypt has indicated that his release is amongst its top foreign policy priorities.

While considerations regarding the blind sheikh’s release would be disturbing in any context, they are particularly alarming given recent events. The 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks was marked by the assassination of America’s ambassador to Libya and an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Egypt. The violence in Egypt has been attributed, in part, to that government’s demands for the blind sheikh’s release.

Succumbing to the demands of a country whose citizens threaten our embassy and the Americans serving in it would send a clear message that acts of violence will be responded to with appeasement rather than strength. The blind sheikh should remain in federal prison.

The release of Abdel-Rahman or any terrorist who plots to kill innocent Americans would be seen for what it is — a sign of weakness and lack of resolve by the United States and its President.

We request a briefing this week by representatives from each of your Departments on the accuracy of recent reports and the status of any negotiations with Egypt. We look forward to your immediate response.

  • Political lies

Lies and half-truths are making up many - of not most - political advertisements in this campaign season.

If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, there is no escaping from the advertisements.

One example that effects all legal Americans is Medicare.

Pretty much everyone - from the Government Accounting Office (GAO) to the man and woman in the street - knows that Medicare as we know it is doomed. It will run out of funds. How soon is anyone's guess - some say within a few years, others within a decade.

There's no argument that Medicare's future is limited; it's demise is imminent.

President Barak Obama's campaign tells us Mitt Romney is going to end Medicare.

    Period.

Seniors will be left on the medical garbage heap.

Trouble is, that's both a half-truth and lie.

Romney and his figure-crunching VP candidate, Paul Ryan , DO intend to try to change Medicare - this cannot be done by White House fiat - BUT, anyone 55 years old or older is "grandfathered". When a 55-year-old "youngster" hits Medicare age, that person will be covered by Medicare as we know it today.

People currently less than 55-years-old - like my sons and daughter, will have a different program, BUT they will have a program.

Let me put this into very simple English.

Medicare as we know it will be around for all those currently 55-years-old and older.

Medicare as we know it will be going away for those currently less than 55 years old. There will be a "safety net," but it will be structured differently.

    What about Social Security?

It, too, is in jeopardy. Not from the Republicans but from the simple facts that

    (a) politicians - Mr. Obama among them - have been stealing from Social Security to pay for other government programs; never mind that Social Security was supposed to be sacred, untouchable, and

    (b) population - the working world is getting smaller, partly due to the economic disaster with which we still are struggling, and partly because of demographics.

Someone looked at the federal budget and determined that entitlement programs - Social Security, Medicare, etc. - take up the entire Federal budget income. Everything else - the military, the sundry Federal departments - are paid for by selling America to, at the moment, primarily the Chinese (who, in addition to sending shoddy and dangerous goods to these shores and stealing our technology, buy our IOUs at a favorable - to whom? - interest rate).

The person who claimed entitlement programs ate up all of the Federal government's income (taxes and fees) noted that in order to pay our bills - that is, stop borrowing - taxes would need to be much higher.

If anyone looks at countries with cradle-to-grave entitlement programs, they will see tax rates well above 50% of a person's or organization's income.

During World War 2, the Feds put a 10 percent excise tax on certain products - primarily jewelry. That "war time tax" lasted will into my lifetime. Perhaps it's time for another "temporary" tax.

There is advertising talk about a "flat tax" which, Obama's supporters allege, would increase the tax on the "average middle class person" by several thousands of dollars.

    That simply does not compute.

A flat tax would set the same tax rate for earned income (compensation for work performed) and for dividends. Currently the super rich and the less rich, including Romney, make their pocket change from dividends and pay a lower tax rate - according to Obama's ad folks, Romney paid taxes at a 14 percent rate -than the working stiffs who pay 28 percent (twice Romney's rate) or more.

If Romney, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and others on the Fortune 400 list of richest Americans (see http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/list/) paid their "fair share" of taxes, in theory, the overall tax rate should go down or, the increased Federal income might be used to pay down our debt (that is, buy back America from the Chinese).

At the same time, does America REALLY need to be the world's policeman? Do we REALLY need to have troops stationed in, for example, England; is the air base in Thule Greenland REALLY necessary in this age of in-air refueling and intercontinental ballistic missiles? (It was necessary in the 1940s and maybe into the 1950s, but today ??)

Does the U.S. REALLY need to send troops into harm's way during a foreign civil disturbance.

(I have no problem with humanitarian aid if we are not expected to carry the full load.)

Do we REALLY need to give billions of foreign aid to countries that prove, again and again, that we cannot "buy" friends - or even reliable allies.

At the risk of offending someone, political advertising is following the Josef Goebbels' philosophy: "the principle and which is quite true in itself and that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily" (see http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Joseph_Goebbels).

    G-d, Jerusalem, and the DNC

According to Agence France Presse (AFP), "President Barack Obama was the one who on Wednesday ordered his Democratic party to reinsert references to G-d and Jerusalem in their party platform, AFP reported.

"The report hinted that the move was not too pleasing to party members.

"A campaign official told AFP that the president, who has been hammered by Republicans who see him as too tough on Israel, personally intervened to have language on Jerusalem, a feature of past party platforms, restored. "

The AFP article also noted that when the delegates were asked to vote to include G-d and Jerusalem, the "nays" (against inclusion) appeared to match the "ayes."

See the CNN video at http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/09/05/delegates-oppose-adding-god-jerusalem-platform/; there is a 30-second commercial to ignore before the vote video commences.

    Now comes the interesting part.

Who is in chair of the DNC?

A person who claims, on her government Web site biography, to be the "The first Jewish Congresswoman ever elected from Florida," Representative Debbie Wassermann-Schultz.

Rep. Wasserman-Schultz' claim to Jewish fame is that she "introduced a resolution, which passed the House of Representatives and called on the President to declare an annual Jewish American Heritage Month."

Rep. Wasserman-Schultz seems - based on her response to constituents' appeals for assistance regarding Israel issues - to limit herself to introducing non-essential resolutions in Congress. When asked to help a local family cut bureaucratic red tape to allow the family's son-in-law to join his American bride, she ignored the appeal.

Congressman Allen West, the Republican in the adjacent congressional district, did manage to cut through the State Department's continuing anti-Jewish and anti-Israel delaying tactics.

Given her apparent unwillingness to touch anything "Israel" and the absence of both G-d and Jerusalem in the DNC platform, it's no surprise that Obama had to insist on inserting the changes.

But one has to suspect that Obama only is giving lip service to the Jerusalem plank since on July 26, 2012, White House press secretary Jay Carney repeatedly refused to answer journalists' demands to know if Obama felt Jerusalem should be recognized by the US as Israel's capital. (See http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/07/26/whs_carney_refuses_to_name_the_capital_of_israel.html.)

According to Democratic National Convention Chairman and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the measure to add G-d and Jerusalem as Israel's capital to the party platform requires a two-third affirmative vote.

Villaraigosa called for a voice vote not once, not twice, but three times and each time it seemed that the delegates were equally split. Villaraigosa, declared the motion passed anyway. (See the CNN video, link in fifth paragraph, above.)

From a Jewish perspective, from an Israeli perspective, the initial lack of inclusion of G-d and Jerusalem-as-Israel's-capital, coupled with the Obama spokesman's refusal to answer journalists' questions regarding Jerusalem as Israel's capital would indicate that, if Obama is re-elected, he will continue to distance himself from Israel while continuing to cozy up to Israel's sworn enemies. Another four years of Obama does not bode well for Israel or for Jews, at least observant Jews.

Admittedly, we should not be "one-issue" voters and social concerns need to be considered.

The Democrats contend that if Romney moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Medicare will go away and women's rights will be violated.

Unless something is done soon, Medicare WILL go away; what the GOP is proposing is a change in Medicare that will impact people LESS THAN 55 years old. They won't loose Medicare, it just will be a different approach.

As for cancelling Roe vs. Wade, that is not an executive branch option; that is a matter for Congress and the Supremes. Indeed, domestically, there is not much the executive branch CAN do.

As far as Jerusalem-as-Israel's-capital goes, the best thing ANY president can do is to follow the 1995 Congressional mandate to MOVE THE EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM.

    From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_Embassy_Act:

The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995is a public law of the United States passed by the 104th Congress on October 23, 1995. It was passed for the purposes of initiating and funding the relocation of the Embassy of the United States in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, no later than May 31, 1999, and attempted to withhold 50 percent of the funds appropriated to the State Department specifically for ‘‘Acquisition and Maintenance of Buildings Abroad’’ as allocated in fiscal year 1999 until the United States Embassy in Jerusalem had officially opened

    Why should WE pay?

The incumbent president is campaigning in the midwest in an effort to hang on to his job for another 4-year term.

He's traveling in a $1.2 million Canadian-made/U.S.-modified "bus" across several midwest states. As an aside, there are at least two companies in the U.S. that could have provided the bus: Blue Bird in Fort Valley, GA, and MCI in Schaumburg, IL .

How did he get to the midwest?

    By Air Force One.

AF1,and its twin, AF2, are Boeing "VC-25"s; modified Boeing 747s designed to ferry the nation's chief executive in comfort and security. VC-35 specs are given at http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/vc-25-specs.htm..

All AF1 costs the taxpayer, according to Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/11/24/military-pegs-hourly-air-force-cost-g-obama-sets-travel-record/) is a "mere" $181,757 per hour. Of course that's an "all inclusive" figure.

I don't mind POTUS traveling on a CV-25 for government business, and the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania has done a lot of that; Fox reports that "President Obama, as it turns out, has spent more days abroad in his first two years than any other president."

But I DO object to paying for the incumbent's campaigning.

That goes for ANY incumbent of ANY political party.

I also take umbrage when I hear of any politician, Allen West included, traveling on taxpayer expense to keep their job. Free rides are not limited to the president.

Incumbents always are in the catbird seat on the campaign trail.

They can send postage-free campaign literature to clutter our mail boxes.

    And the travel perks.

When The Glorious Leader travels - and again, my comments are aimed at all presidential incumbents - the armored executive limo goes along (except when POTUS is traveling by "bus") as well as a cluster of Secret Service agents and other police and security personnel; the press tags along, too; the chosen ones with POTUS in AF1 and the "pool" in another government plane.

Once on the ground. local taxpayers are "privileged" to pay for the lights and sirens that precede and follow his entourage down blocked streets - a minor inconvenience for taxpayers on their way to/from work.

The party National Committee might pick up the tab for the politician's lodging - unless POTUS can figure some way to make it an "official" trip - in Miami's case, maybe to look where the new tunnel will be started . Likewise, the National Committee may even pick up the tab for the president's speaking venue.

The bottom line for me is to protect my bottom line - and, by extension, the country's.

We should not be forced to pay for purely political jaunts with little or no benefit to the taxpayer.

In these tough economic times, the incumbent should realize that and find other ways to fund the campaigning.
